Lilium Air Mobility has been developing electric vertical takeoff and landing air taxis for several years. Recently, the German manufacturer celebrated an important achievement.

What is known

The air taxi demonstrator is called Phoenix 2. In September 2022, the aircraft was able to accelerate to 185 km / h. On the eve of the German company said that the air taxi managed to develop a speed of 250 km / h.

Tests of the electric aircraft took place in the south of Spain. Lilium sees this as a key milestone in achieving certification in 2025, which will enable commercial air taxis to be launched.
