Apple smartphones still do not have a periscope telephoto lens. The technology appeared in early 2019, but it still hasn’t made it to the iPhone. Apple plans to correct the situation only next year.

Analyst Jeff Pu says that Apple will still add a periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, but only in 2023. The module will only be used in iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro.

A decision on the manufacturer of periscope cameras will be made in May 2022. It is expected that it will be the Chinese company Lante Optics, which will create 100 million modules for Apple.
