“Who will be the last one will turn off the light”: Artificial intelligence sentenced 300 million jobs

Find out why artificial intelligence hangs like the sword of Damocles over 300 million jobs around the world.

Artificial intelligence and the services and applications developed on its basis could lead to the loss of work for 300 million people around the world, CNBC notes, citing a report by Goldman Sachs. The author of the publication Sophie Kinderlin focused on the fact that approximately so many people around the world are at risk of losing their jobs due to artificial intelligence. In particular, in the US and Europe it is possible to automate partially or completely two-thirds of jobs.

Occupations that are less at risk include occupations associated with heavy physical labor, as well as building maintenance and cleaning. Professions related to accounting, administrative and office activities are most at risk of automation.

However, this process may differ depending on the level of development of a particular country. “According to our intuitive estimates, jobs in emerging markets are less susceptible to automation than in developed markets. Overall, 18 percent of jobs worldwide can be automated,” Goldman Sachs said in a report.

It should be noted that technological progress not only eliminates some professions and jobs, but also creates new ones. The bank also emphasized that the use of artificial intelligence can contribute to the growth of world GDP by seven percent and increase labor productivity growth.
