Belarus receives $2.5 billion S-400 anti-aircraft missile system from Russia free of charge

The Belarusian army received the S-400 anti-aircraft missile system (according to NATO classification – SA-21 Growler). In the near future, it will be deployed throughout the country.

What is known

The export value of the S-400 is $2.5 billion. That is how much Türkiye paid for the anti-aircraft missile system a few years ago. This was the reason for the exclusion of the country from the development program for the fifth generation fighter F-35 Lightning II.

Belarus received the S-400 for free. It was delivered as part of military cooperation with the Russian Federation. Probably, the anti-aircraft missile system will be deployed near the Belarusian-Polish or Belarusian-Ukrainian border.

Belarusian anti-aircraft gunners have completed a full course of training for the combat use of the air defense system. Military personnel learned to use S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems in Russia.
