Darknet forum BreachForums is back and gaining new subscribers

ShinyHunters hackers have taken responsibility for restoring a major cybercriminal hideout.

As of June 14 new BreachForums has over 1,500 members, and the site receives hundreds of additional visitors daily. Although the new site only lasted a week, by comparison, the old BreachForums had over 340,000 members when it closed.

To attract users, the new site even offers to restore the rankings earned by former members (displayed on profile pages) prior to review by current administrators.

The new site is said to have been revived by a hacker group ShinyHunters. And it looks like the new owners were working with former BreachForum chief administrator Baphomet, deputy administrator of Pompompurin, who was arrested. It was Baphomet who struggled to keep BreachForums afloat after the founder and owner of the Pompompurine forum was arrested by the FBI, then Baphomet became concerned that law enforcement agencies have access to their servers, and disabled the forum myself.

The new BreachForums site looks identical to the old one

At the beginning of June VX Undergroundspecializing in the storage and distribution of malicious programs, reported that the BreachForums forum, closed in March, is going to resume its activities under the leadership of the well-known hacker group ShinyHunters.

ShinyHunters profile on the new BreachForums website

ShinyHunters is a hacker group that specializes in stealing and selling user data from various websites and services. grouping first attracted attention in April 2020 and has since claimed responsibility for a number of high-profile data breaches, including Tokopedia, Wattpad, Pixlr, Bonobos, BigBasket, Mathway, Unacademy, MeetMindful, Microsoft’s GitHub account, and more.

BreachForums (Breached) is a cybercrime forum that was active from 2022 to 2023 . The site acted as an alternative and successor RaidForums that was closed in 2022 . Breached made it possible to discuss various hacking topics and distribute data leaks, pornography, hacking tools, and other services.

After closing Raidforums users flocked to a new forum called Breached (BreachForums), but this too closed in March 2023 after the founder and owner of the Pompompurine forum was arrested by the FBI and another administrator became concerned that law enforcement agencies have access to their servers and disabled the forum on its own.
