At CES 2023 in early January, Dell announced The world’s first 500Hz gaming monitor. The novelty is called Alienware AW2524H. Almost three months after the premiere, it went on sale.

What is known

The Dell Alienware AW2524H is equipped with a 24.5” Fast IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which corresponds to the Full HD format. The response time is 0.5ms, the brightness is 400 nits, and the contrast ratio is 1000 to 1.

The matrix covers 99% of the sRGB color range and supports HDR. The manufacturer also claims that the display of the new monitor has a certificate of compliance with the VESA DisplayHDR 400 standard.


The Alienware AW2524H supports frame rates up to 240Hz via HDMI and up to 500Hz via DisplayPort. The monitor has received the TÜV ComfortView Plus certification, which reduces blue light while maintaining picture quality.

Connection to computers is via HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort 1.4. The monitor also received three downstream USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 connectors (up to 5 Gb / s), two upstream USB 3.2 and a Mini-Jack. There is a backlight on the back.

Price and when to expect

The Dell Alienware AW2524H is now available for purchase. The MSRP for the world’s first 500Hz gaming monitor is $830.
