In case you are unable to analyze the interfering program or service, try restarting your PC in a clean boot state and see if the error is resolved. It will start your computer with a minimal set of drivers and services. If the problem is gone, you can try enabling services one by one and check which is causing the conflict. Once you get that, disable the problematic program or uninstall it.

4] Disable or remove your Add-ins

Disable add-ins in PowerPoint

You can install external add-ins in Powerpoint to enhance its feature set However, there are some problematic add-ins that actually cause issues with the functioning of the application. The error while exporting a presentation to a video might be a result of one such add-in you have installed in Microsoft Powerpoint.

To determine whether the issue at hand is caused by a Powerpoint add-in, launch Powerpoint in safe mode. Open the Run command box using Win+R and then enter “powerpnt /safe” in it to start Powerpoint. You can now check if you can export your PPT, PPTX, and other Powerpoint files to a video or not.

If Powerpoint works fine in safe mode, you can be sure that the problem is caused because of a faulty add-in. Hence, you can try disabling your add-ins or removing them to resolve the issue permanently. Here are the steps to do that:

  • Firstly, open Powerpoint and then click on the File menu.
  • After that, select Options and then move to the Add-ins tab in the opened window.
  • Now, locate the Manage option present towards the bottom of the tab and click on the Go button.
  • After that, in the opened dialog, deselect the add-ins you want to disable.
  • If you want to uninstall certain add-ins, select them and then press the Remove button.
