GSC Game World will not change its position in relation to the Russian audience
The company calls on the players not to spread information”
GSC Game World refused to back down from the ultimatum presented by Russian hackers before the release of STALKER 2. Unidentified attackers threatened to publish game materials on the Internet, but the company urged players not to watch the leaked information.
The studio acknowledged that the leak was due to a hack in the account of one of its employees. A hacker group from Russia demanded a complete localization of the game into Russian and a change in the company’s attitude towards players from the Russian Federation.
However, GSC Game World does not plan to change its position in relation to the Russian audience and will not sell its products to users from Russia, as previously stated. Although the hackers continue to threaten, the company remains steadfast in its decision and urges players not to spread the leak in order to preserve the experience of the game.
On March 11, an entry was published in the “Bulletin of the Same Stalker” group on the VKontakte social network, in which the authors announced that they had “tens of gigabytes” of materials on the still unreleased game STALKER 2. As proof, they published several screenshots from games.
The authors of the post are threatening to release the rest of the content if GSC Game World does not comply with their demands by March 15th. Among the demands voiced in the entry, the authors demanded that the company “rethink its attitude towards players from Belarus and Russia” and return the Russian localization of the game.
