The Moscow City Court began considering the criminal case of the founder of Group-IB.

How reported Business FM, the defendant’s lawyers Ruslan Koblev and Sergey Afanasiev, after prosecutor Milana Digaeva announced the indictment, the defendant stated that he did not admit guilt.

“He did not admit guilt. He expressed his attitude towards the prosecution, he will refute it,” the defender said.

Previously online video began to circulate in which Ilya Sachkov announced his involvement in his persecution of the head of the CIB FSB.

The founder of the Group-IB company named the names of two FSB officers whom he considers to be the initiators of his persecution. Sachkov said that his case was connected with a conflict between the head of the second operational department of the FSB Information Security Center Oleg Kashentsov and the former head of this department, Sergei Mikhailov, who was convicted in a treason case.

Sachkov also claims that his indictment was ordered by former FSB deputy director Sergei Smirnov, who died in February 2021 from the coronavirus. According to Sachkov, Smirnov was interested in discrediting his company and seizing its assets.

Recall that business Ilya Sachkov was arrested on September 28, 2021 and charged with treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), for which the law provides for liability from 12 to 20 years in prison. The entrepreneur pleaded not guilty. He categorically denies cooperation with the intelligence of foreign states.
