Highly mobile artillery missile systems M142 HIMARS have proven their effectiveness on the battlefield in Ukraine. Ukraine received the first M142 HIMARS artillery systems in early summer 2022. In total, the United States has provided about two dozen missile systems with GMLRS precision-guided missiles that can hit targets at a distance of about 80 km.
The Lockheed Martin plant in Camden, Arkansas is preparing to ramp up production of HIMARS. The company invested during the year in an enterprise with an area of just over 26,000 square meters. meters (282,000 sq. ft.), so it will not be difficult for her to increase the production of missile systems. But the factory still has to go through a small upgrade.
Lockheed Martin entered 2022 with a schedule of 48 M142 HIMARS highly mobile missile systems per year, but eventually reached the level of 60 units. Over the next few years, the company wants to produce 96 HIMARS complexes annually.
