Mi Watch Revolve, Mi Band 5 Are Rumored to Launch in India next Month

-

Currently Xiaomi seems to be on a launch spree. Over the past month, it has already launched a budget-centered Redmi 9 Prime and Redmi 9 and is planning to take off the Redmi 9A and Mi TV Horizon Version entry-level wraps over the next week. But that is not everything. With the launch of the Mi Band 5, and its first smartwatch – Mi Watch Revolve, in India, the Chinese giant is looking to continue its lead in the wearables industry.

According to the latest 91Mobiles news, Xiaomi will launch the Mi Band 5 (successor to Mi Band 4) and the Mi Watch Revolve (rebranded Mi Watch Color from China) in India soon through reliable tipster Ishan Agarwal. The report does not disclose an exact timeline but each year the Chinese giant unveils its ecosystem items, including the latest Mi Band, Mi TVs, surveillance cameras, and more at a dedicated September gathering.

Since Xiaomi releases the Mi TV Horizon Edition at a standalone event, is there any chance of delaying the launch of its ecosystem product due to COVID-19? Or maybe the Chinese giant will be holding a standalone event to launch their first smartwatch in India.

Mi Watch Revolve: Specs & Features

This is not the first time we learn of the Mi Watch revolve. We’ve already seen Xiaomi reports looking to rebrand Mi Watch Color, introduced earlier this year in China as the Mi Watch Revolve for Global Markets. And now, it appears that India is probably one of the first to see its debut.

Mi Watch Color sports a 1.39 “AMOLED touch display with a resolution of 454 x 454. It supports tracking heart rate, sleep monitoring, sedentary warnings, and all of the other features you find on board the Mi Band. Mi Watch Color comes with a 420mAh battery that the company says will last for up to 14 days. It is waterproof up to 50 m/5ATM and supports GPS, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC.

The smartwatch is available for purchase in three colour variations in China-Black, Gold , and Silver. At launch it was priced at CNY 799 (around Rs. 8,599) but was already marked down to CNY 599 (around Rs. 6,499) within six months of launch.

Mi Band 5: Specs & Features

A few months earlier, Mi Band 5 had already made its world debut in Europe. The Mi Band is the successor to the Mi Band 4 and carries in tow some big refinements. It also contains a 1.1-inch AMOLED touch panel in larger colour. It’s bigger than its successor by 20 per cent. You now also have six new sport modes, the much-anticipated 24-hour sleep monitoring option, and also aspects of women’s health monitoring.

Mi Band 5 addresses with the charging system still one of the main nuisances. You no longer need to detach the primary pill from the band as Xiaomi finally launched this fitness tracker with magnetic charging. There is no NFC, SpO2 sensor on board and there is not even a voice assistant.

Keep your eyes open for official notification. Once we hear more about the coming launch of the Mi Band 5 and Mi Watch Revolve in India, we’ll brief you.
