Phil Spencer says 2022 was too easy in terms of games and promises to improve in 2023

In 2021, Microosft released some very good projects: Forza Horzion 5, Halo Infinite, Age of Empires IV and Psychonauts 2, for which it even received the title of “Publisher of the Year” from Metacritic. 2022 was not immediately planned to be as eventful – among the major projects, Starfield and Redfall can be distinguished, which were postponed to 2023. So Microsoft has focused on supporting smaller projects like Grounded, Pentiment, and As Dusk Falls.

Of course, users were not too happy with this, especially against the backdrop of the PlayStation, which received God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West and the smaller Sifu and Stray in the same year. The CEO of the gaming division of the company Phil Spencer (Phill Spencer) immediately after the presentation of Xbox / Bethesda admitted:

“I’m serious about our customers, the teams are serious about our obligation to continue to offer great games and 2022 has been too easy on the games”.

Potentially, this year has every chance to become successful: Starfiled and Redfall (which will never come out), Minecraft Legends, as well as the eighth part of Forza Motorsports can contribute to this. The company is already off to a good start to the year by announcing and immediately releasing the rhythm game Hi-Fi Rush. According to Spencer, the idea of the announcement and instant release belongs to the developer Tango Gameworks.

Spencer also once again discussed the purchase of Activision Blizzard, where the process dragged on for a very long time.
