Polish shooter in a new way: the gameplay trailer for Witchfire, an ambitious game from the creators of Painkiller and Bulletstorm, has been released

During IGN Fan Fest 2023, The Astronauts, a small Polish studio founded by former developers of the once popular shooters Painkiller and Bulletstorm, presented another trailer for the first-person shooter Witchfire.

What is known

A commentary video from game director Adrian Chmielarz demonstrates Witchfire’s combat system using the Hunger handgun as an example of a monster shootout. This weapon initially has a huge destructive power, but as you progress, the player will be able to upgrade it three times, which will give the shotgun new effects.

In general, the gameplay of Witchfire is reminiscent of the very Polish shooters with which the team began their career: fast, brutal, dynamic and exciting.

In addition to the gameplay, the style of the game also looks interesting: in Witchfire, players will find themselves in the entourage of a gloomy medieval fantasy, in which firearms somehow appeared.

When to expect

Witchfire was announced back in 2017 at The Game Awards, and work is progressing very slowly, so a release date has not yet been announced. However, The Astronauts does not exclude the release of the shooter in early access as early as 2023.
