Many users want items on the screen to appear as they are and so do not like making any changes to them. With a simple workaround, you can reinforce this behavior. Here’s how you can stop other users from changing Color and Appearance of your Windows 11 or Windows 10 device using Registry or Group Policy Editor.

Stop Users from Changing Color and Appearance in Windows 11/10

The size of the texts or images that is suitable for your viewing may not be ideal for others using the same computer. As such, they might make some changes. However, if you do not want them to tweak any settings related to Color and Appearance in Windows 11/10:

1. Open the Local Group Policy Editor.
2. Navigate to the following path – User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Personalization
3. Double-click the Prevent changing color and appearance policy on the right.
4. Select the Enabled option to disable the Colors settings for all users.
5. Hit the Apply button.
6. Click OK.

Using Group Policy Editor

Press Win+R to open the Run dialog box.

Using Regstry Editor

Press Win+R to open the Run dialog box.

In the empty field of the box, type regedit and hit the Enter key to open the Registry Editor.

Navigate to the following path address –

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPolicies.

Here, right-click the Policies key, and select New > Key.

Rename the new key as System.

Now, right-click the System key, select New, and then DWORD (32-bit) Value.

Switch to the right side, and rename the newly created DWORD value as NoDispAppearancePage.

When done, double-click the NoDispAppearancePage entry and set its Value data to 1.

Hit the OK button.

Restart your P)C to allow the changes to take effect.

Hereafter, other users won’t be able to Change Color and Appearance in Windows 11/10.
