Putin supports the creation of a national alternative to international communication protocols

Vladimir Putin supported the idea of developing national alternatives to international communication protocols such as TCP/IP in order to increase the country’s technological sovereignty and independence.

On Thursday, the head of state visited the Rudnevo industrial park, where the development of domestic unmanned aerial vehicles was discussed. During the event, Alexander Selyutin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Technojet Group of Companies, presented the Internet from Russia project.

Putin turned to his assistant Maxim Oreshkin with a request to discuss the project with colleagues and report back to him on the results. The President emphasized the importance of supporting such initiatives, as they contribute to technological sovereignty, increase competitiveness and ensure the independence of the country.

“The results showed that we perform better than TCP/IP on the network. I’ll give you a number. If the delay or packet loss in TCP occurs at a rate of 1 percent, then TCP recovers these packets within 360 seconds. We are recovering – 5.7 seconds,” Selyutin said.
