Reznikov announced the mass production of self-propelled guns

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in 2022 purchased weapons and military equipment from domestic manufacturers. This also applies to the Ukrainian Bogdan self-propelled artillery mount.

What is known

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov posted a photo of the Bogdan self-propelled guns on Facebook and said that the department had financed new artillery systems in the spring of 2022.

“In the photo – the Ukrainian Bogdan self-propelled guns of 155 mm caliber. One such artillery system was successfully tested on the battlefield. The Ministry of Defense financed new artillery systems in the spring of 2022. Western-made tanks, which will arrive in a few months, will be supported at the front by Ukrainian – in every sense of the word – artillery,” Reznikov stressed.

Also last year, the Ministry of Defense prepared a transition so that in 2023 the maximum amount of funds would be sent to Ukrainian manufacturers. This applies to all components: from uniforms, shoes, body armor and UAVs to heavy weapons and ammunition.

In addition, the minister promised to reveal some details about the production of UAVs in the near future.

By the way, “Bogdan” became the first Ukrainian self-propelled guns, developed under the “NATO” caliber 155 mm. The development of a prototype was developed in 2009, and for the first time the installation was shown to the public at a military parade in honor of Independence Day on August 24, 2018. In June 2021, before the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the developers claimed that Bogdan’s self-propelled guns in NATO caliber 155 mm could be adopted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2023, in 2022 state tests of the vehicle were planned. Last year, Bogdan’s prototype self-propelled guns played a key role in pushing Russian troops off Snake Island.
