The Russian company Rostec has announced its desire to study the wreckage of the MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicle. The drone after contact with the Su-24 fighter fell into the Black Sea.

Representatives of the Russian company claim that the wreckage of the drone, developed by General Atomics, is of interest to the country’s military-industrial complex. According to them, such a find as the MQ-9 Reaper must be disassembled and studied to the last bolt.

Interestingly, Russian officials say the planes did not come into contact with the drone. The Ministry of Defense claims that the Reaper was flying in Russian-controlled airspace with transponders turned off. During the performance of a sharp maneuver, the drone lost control and fell into the sea.
