In the second week after the presentation of the Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphones, more and more new information about the new generation flagships appears. We already wrote about Android 13 and One UI 5.1 taking up 60 GB in some regions. Now another feature of the new products has become known.

What is known

Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra are equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which is powerful enough for any game. During long gaming sessions, the battery will drain quickly, so smartphones need to be constantly charged. South Korean developers have taken care to minimize the negative impact on the battery.

The flagships received the Samsung Game Booster utility, which has a Pause USB Power Delivery setting. Activating this option allows you to power your smartphone directly from the outlet, bypassing the battery. This will not only reduce the rate of battery degradation, but also reduce processor heating.

The Pause USB Power Delivery feature is currently only available on Samsung Galaxy S23 models, but in general, this approach is not new. It was found in ASUS ROG Phone gaming smartphones of the last two generations and in Xiaomi gaming models that enter the market under the Black Shark brand.
