PDF.ai is a free web service that uses Artificial Intelligence to manage all types of PDF files in a quick and easy way and it is really simple to use, since to start using it you only have to access your websitepush the button start free and sign in with your Google account, GitHub account or with your email.
Once you have logged in with your PDF.ai account, a screen will appear in which you will have to upload your first PDF document to start working with it. To do this, simply tap on the button Increase that appears at the top right, tap in the window Select a documentselect the PDF file you want to manage and click on the button again Increase which is located at the bottom.
After uploading the PDF document, the PDF.ai interface will be divided into two parts: one on the left side with the file you just uploaded and one on the right side with the chatbot you will use to work with the PDF.
At this point, all you have to do is use prompts just like you do in ChatGPT and write in the chat bar that is located at the bottom the action that you want to ask the AI. So, for example, if you write in the chat bar “Give me a summary of this document”, PDF.ai will show you a summary of it at the top of the chatbot and just below it several buttons with the pages of the file on which this summary is based.
Likewise, with this AI you will also be able to search for words in the PDF document or locate a specific part of the file. For example, to find a specific word you just have to write in the chat bar “Search for the word X in the document”. If the word does not appear, it will indicate that it is not there and if it is present several times It will show you at the bottom the shortcuts to the pages where that word is found.
One of the great advantages of PDF.ai is that you do not need to access its website to be able to use it, since it has an extension for Google Chrome and compatible browsers like Brave or Edge.
To install the PDF.ai extension in your web browser You just have to follow these simple steps:
- Access the PDF.ai website and click on the button chrome extension that appears at the top right
- Tap on the option Add the PDF.ai extension to Chrome
- Click on the button add a brave similar
- Finally, press the option add extension* to install it in your browser
Once you have installed it in Chrome or Brave you have to enter the extension options and activate the option Allow access to file URL for it to work correctly and click on it to log in with the account with which you have previously logged in on their website.
With the extension activated, you simply have to open the PDF document you want to manage in your web browser and touch the button with the PDF.ai logo that appears in the lower right corner of the screen to access the chatbot in the same way that you would from its website.
