The Ukrainian Defense Forces shoot down rare Russian Orlan-30 drones from time to time. One of these drones was recently destroyed using the Strela-10 anti-aircraft missile system (according to NATO codification – SA-13 Gopher).
What is known
Unlike Orlan-10, the more modern 30th version is much less common. The unmanned aerial vehicle is used for reconnaissance, observation and adjustment of laser-guided munitions from a height of up to 5000 meters.

Returning to the Orlan-30 drone, it should be noted that in addition to climbing to a height of 5000 meters, it can reach speeds of up to 170 km/h and has a range of 150 km. The power reserve is 300 km. The drone is capable of carrying electronic intelligence equipment and cameras with optical stabilization weighing up to 8 kg. The maximum takeoff weight is 27 kg
