The Netherlands will work to increase the supply of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine

The Armed Forces of Ukraine need more MIM-104 Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems. This was stated by the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte (Mark Rutte).

What is known

The head of the Dutch government arrived in Moldova for the summit of the European Political Community. According to Rutte, the Netherlands will work to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense system.

Despite the fact that the main topic now is the fourth generation F-16 fighters, Mark Rutte said that Ukraine needs a large number of MIM-104 Patrtiot anti-aircraft missile systems. Therefore, the Netherlands will work to expand the Patriot coalition.

Now the Armed Forces of Ukraine have two anti-aircraft missile systems. The US and Germany donated one each. In addition, the Netherlands sent several Patriot launchers to Ukraine.

Where to get additional anti-aircraft missile systems for Ukraine, so far it is difficult to say. PAC-3 operators in Europe are Romania, Poland, Sweden, the Netherlands and Germany. The first two countries combined paid almost $9 billion for the Patriot, and deliveries are still pending. Germany has about a dozen complexes.

The distribution geography of the Patriot PAC-3 is not limited to Europe, but other countries have their own problems. In other regions, Japan and Taiwan need to strengthen their defenses against the threat of China and North Korea. The countries of the Middle East will also not agree to transfer Patriot systems to Ukraine.
