TP Vision Unveils 2022 Philips TVs: Android TV 11, HDMI 2.1 Support, Filmmaker Mode, IMAX Enhanced and Gamer Modes

TP Vision has introduced a line of TVs, speakers and headphones for the first half of 2022. The most important, in my opinion, was the support on HDMI 2.1 TVs with all the ensuing benefits for gamers (lower latency and / or smoother picture). Technically, these features appeared in Philips TVs in the second half of 2021, but then it was only about the older models of the OLED + series, and now HDMI 2.1 will be in the entire series of TVs on Android TV. But the new opportunities for gamers were not limited to this – a separate panel appeared for controlling TVs during games. In addition, the older OLED models use the sixth generation P5 processor, which made it possible to expand the automatic TV settings that optimize the image. Added support for Filmmaker mode and IMAX Enhanced certification. And all this, of course, runs on Android TV 11 version.

Philips OLED TVs 2022

The 2022 Philips OLED TV line-up includes three series of models: OLED 807 and OLED 707, the most important things to know about them are:

  • new OLED EX panel with higher brightness than previous ones
  • 4-sided (OLED 707 has 3-sided) Ambilight with AmbiSleep, Sunrise, Aurora modes
  • 6th generation P5 AI processor that expands the AI Auto Film mode to 7 presets
  • Android TV version 11
  • Поддержка HDR10, HLG, HDR 10+, Dolby Vision, IMAX Enhanced
  • CalMAN Ready – Special Settings for Calibration
  • NVIDIA G-SYNC и Freesync Pro
  • A separate panel for gamers that allows you to customize the game mode (including depending on the genre – FPS, RTS, RPG)
  • HDMI 2.1 (including VRR and ALLM)
  • Acoustics 2.1 70 watts, Dolby Atmos, DTS Play-Fi
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage
  • Muirhead leather remote control
  • Diagonals 48”, 55”, 65”, 77” (last only for OLED 807)

All these features are available in the 9507 TV series, which uses a MiniLED backlit screen instead of an OLED panel.

Philips 8807 TVs

The most interesting for us, of course, is the update of The One TV series, which combines the maximum technological capabilities for Android TVs with an LCD panel:

  • 3-sided Ambilight with AmbiSleep, Sunrise, Aurora modes
  • Processor P5 singthat generation
  • Panel 120 Hz
  • Android TV version 11
  • Support for HDR10, HLG, HDR 10+, Dolby Vision
  • NVIDIA G-SYNC и Freesync Pro
  • A separate panel for gamers that allows you to customize the game mode (including depending on the genre – FPS, RTS, RPG)
  • HDMI 2.1 (including VRR and ALLM)
  • Acoustics 2.0 20 watts, Dolby Atmos, DTS Play-Fi
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage
  • Diagonals 43”, 50”, 55”, 65”, 75”, 86”

Other series of LCD TVs with Android TV are the Philips 8507 (featuring a double-legged stand design, a 60Hz refresh rate panel, and no FRL support for 48Gbps network bandwidth) and Philips 8007 (the low-end Android TV series without HDMI 2.1 gaming features, with 60Hz panel).

On sale, these TVs can be expected at the end of the summer of 2022.

Wireless TV speakers Fidelio

In addition to TVs, TP Vision introduced a new series of wireless acoustics of the Fidelio series. All devices support the DTS Play-Fi standard, which allows you to connect speakers without using a cable and create a multi-room sound environment.

Fidelio FS1: Speakers with Ambilight

Ambilight illumination can now also extend to acoustics. The Fidelio FS1 is a 60 watt three-way speaker system. The design includes a front tweeter, an angled mid-range driver and a woofer in a separate part of the cabinet. The bass is further enhanced by two passive radiators. The trim uses Muirhead leather and metal.

Fidelio FB1: soundbar 7.1.2

Fidelio FB1 is a 7.1.2 soundbar specially designed to work with new TVs. It is equipped with 15 speakers with a total power of 310 watts, which allows it to fill even a large room with sound. This soundbar is divided into independent cabinets for LCR (Left-Center-Right) sections to minimize crosstalk and provide better sound clarity. Each of the LCR channels also features a pair of mid-range drivers mounted on either side of the tweeter in a classic pattern. D’Appolito for better integration of mid and high frequencies. Two side speakers, one at each end of the stand, create a surround sound effect. There are also two dedicated Dolby Atmos height speakers mounted on top of the soundbar, either side of the bass with two subwoofers. The soundbar features Muirhead leather upholstery around the bevelled edge of the soundbar and acoustically transparent metal mesh.

Fidelio FW1: wireless subwoofer

The Fidelio FW1 Wireless Subwoofer features a large, downward-firing 8″ woofer. It is complemented by two lateral passive radiators working “back to back”, as well as a powerful 200 watt amplifier. The manufacturer claims that this design is ideal for both watching movies and listening to music. The subwoofer is completed by a combination of Muirhead leather and wood trim with a brushed aluminum top.

TWS headphones Philips A7507

Of the interesting new products, it is also worth mentioning the new model of Philips A7507 in-ear TWS headphones with active noise reduction. The Philips A7507 Hybrid Noise Canceling System includes bone conduction microphones that enhance voice clarity during calls. Claimed battery life of 8 hours, fast charging allows you to get an hour of music playback in 15 minutes, and the charging case provides an additional 21 hours of work.
