The T-80BVM is a new Russian tank. It is a modernization of the T-80BV. The development of the combat vehicle began in 2017, and production began in 2019 and is still ongoing.
The tank is 7 meters long (9.56 meters with gun), 3.84 meters wide and 2.22 meters high. The modernization brought the GTD-1000T engine with a capacity of 1250 horsepower, which allows speeds up to 80 km/h. The power reserve is 500 km.

The tank is equipped with dynamic protection “Relic”. The T-80BVM is also equipped with the new Sosna-U sight, which is used on the T-72B3.
According to analysts Oryx, The Armed Forces of Ukraine captured or destroyed 77 T-80BVM tanks. In addition, the Ukrainian Defense Forces managed to eliminate at least one tank of the 2022 model.
