Another safety issue with Tesla’s electric vehicles could lead to a recall of tens of thousands of Elon Musk’s vehicles. This time, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is investigating two cases of belt failure.
What is known
The NHTSA launched an investigation a few days ago. This comes after the regulator received two complaints from owners of Tesla Model X electric vehicles. The problem is the seat belt is disconnected.
NHTSA representatives during the investigation found that both cars were handed over to buyers with loose belts. The failure did not result in injury. However, it may affect up to 50,000 Tesla Model X vehicles produced in 2022 and 2023.
