The US Federal Communications Commission has scheduled test launches of two Jackal reconnaissance satellites developed by startup True Anomaly.

How informs Wired, “Jackals” are designed to conduct military operations from space.

According to the publication, the launch of satellites will take place this year with the help of a SpaceX rocket. Since SpaceX is a private company, the event is formally an initiative of individuals who are not related to the US authorities. In fact, Washington outsourced the main tasks of preparing for war in outer space.

Representatives of True Anomaly said that the devices are intended for space warfare. They will be able to arrange cyber attacks and use electronic warfare methods. However, such activity can provoke a collision of various objects in near-Earth orbit.

According to experts, given that now the Russian Federation and China are also actively building up their satellite constellations, it is extremely important for the United States to also increase the number of satellites. True Anomaly has already received more than $23 million from investors for the project, and, apparently, the satellites will soon begin to function.
