Windows 11 not showing remaining battery time

-

By default, Windows 11 displays the remaining battery status so that you can know how much time you will be able to use your laptop for. However, if Windows 11 is not showing the remaining battery time on your computer, here is how you can get rid of that issue. This article helps you fix this problem by changing a few Registry values.

Windows 11 not showing remaining battery time

By default, Windows 11 displays the remaining battery time or percentage when you hover your mouse over the battery icon in the system tray. However, there could be times when it might not show the details, as mentioned earlier. In such a situation, you need to change a few things. One of them is the Value data of a REG_DWORD value.

As it is responsible for showing or hiding the battery time remaining information, this setting must be set correctly. On the other hand, there are two more REG_DWORD values that need to be set as the factory defaults. Those REG_DWORD values are: EnergyEstimationDisabled and UserBatteryDischargeEstimator.

This particular article shows how you can open the Registry Editor and make the necessary changes in the Windows Registry. As you are going to change things in the Registry files, it is recommended to create a System Restore point first.

First, you need to open the Registry Editor on your computer. For that, you can search for the regedit in the Taskbar search box and click on the individual search result. Then, click the Yes button in the UAC prompt.

Once the Registry Editor is opened on your PC, navigate to the following path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlPower

However, if the Power key is not available, right-click on Control > New > Key and name it as Power.

Here, you need to create three REG_DWORD values. For that, right-click on Power > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value and set the name as EnergyEstimationEnabled.
