After a long time without having one, it seems that YouTube is finally going to have a function to add a video to the play queue. Currently the function is in the testing phase in the iOS and Android applications of the platform as reported by 9to5Google.
In this way, it will no longer be necessary to resort to watch later in the applications to return to a content without removing the one that we have open at that moment. Of course, for now testing this function has an important drawback: You have to be a Premium subscriber to be able to do it.
How to test the YouTube play queue
To test this function, apart from being a paid user, you have to go to your avatar image in the upper right part of the screen. Afterwards, you will have to click on Your Premium benefits. Then tap on try new features and scroll down until you see the section Available.
If you keep scrolling down, you’ll see the queue function. Click on the button Try to start testing it. And that’s it, you can start adding videos to the queue… as long as you’re a paid user, we insist.
From now on the function of adding videos to the queue can be find in menu button that appears next to each video as Play last in queue. It will also appear as the first option on the list.
After choosing which videos to play in the queue, YouTube will generate a play queue which you can access from the bottom of the screen. In this panel you can rearrange the order of the videos, as well as delete them by sliding to the left. There will also be options to repeat a playback and view the queue in random. One more note: if you close the mini-player, the queue will be completely cleared. This test will be available until January 28.
It is worth reminding you that you can consult our little known tricks for youtubeand that the play queue is now available in the web version from YouTube.
