ALLO will transfer 100 hryvnias from each sold smartphone to innovative prostheses for Ukrainians

The company accumulates UAH 15 million for prosthetics for eight war-injured people

June 12, 2023 group companies ALLO announces partnership with the medical center Superhumans and starts the charity program “Small steps to a big movement”, the purpose of which is to accumulate 15 million hryvnias and finance prosthetics and rehabilitation for 8 Ukrainians who were seriously injured during the Russian aggression. ALLO starts a charity campaign of the same name, during which it will send 100 hryvnias from each sold smartphone in the ALLO chain of stores, on the allo.ua website and in the mobile application for prosthetics and rehabilitation in Superhumans Center. The charity event will not affect the cost of smartphones for buyers.

All accumulated funds will be used to purchase components, manufacture and install highly functional prostheses for Ukrainian soldiers and civilians who were wounded and lost limbs as a result of hostilities. Prostheses will be assembled in a modern laboratory of the center in the city of Vinniki, Lviv region, individually for each patient from components from manufacturers such as OTTOBOCK (Germany), COVVI (Great Britain) and others. The cost of such prostheses is from 25 to 60 thousand euros each.

High-tech prostheses are multifunctional limbs with electronic knee or elbow mechanisms. For example, bionic prosthetic hands work using sensors that respond to signals from the muscles of the stump of the amputated limb. The installation of the prosthesis is preceded by a long process of psychological and physical rehabilitation, measurement and testing – all this is carried out by the modern Superhumans Medical Center. A person with bionic prostheses is more likely to find a job and return to an active life, because modern functional prostheses return fine motor skills of hands and movement control.

Prosthetics and rehabilitation services at the Superhumans Medical Center are free for military and civilians affected by the war.
