Anton Gorelkin proposes to create cyber troops in the National Guard

The State Duma deputy considers this a necessity in the conditions of information confrontation.

State Duma deputy Anton Gorelkin proposed to form a full-fledged cybertroops unit in the structure of the Russian Guard. He wrote about this in his telegram channel commenting on the off-site meeting of the IT Committee in the National Guard.

According to Gorelkin, the Russian Guard is a leader in the field of digital transformation among other authorities. He noted that one of the key tasks was the rejection of Microsoft solutions and the transition to domestic solutions. So, according to him, the National Guard replaced 67 thousand mailboxes with domestic ones, transferred more than 80 thousand workstations “to Russian software” and launched its own educational digital modules.

“Since the National Guard is, first of all, a law enforcement agency, it is worth considering the formation of a full-fledged cybertroops unit in its structure, taking into account the growing digital competencies here. In the context of information confrontation, this is a necessity, ”Gorelkin wrote in his social networks.

The MP added that digital sovereignty is not only about strong national IT solutions, “but the will of key actors to take the first step.” He noted that this step was taken in the Russian Guard.
