Germany to give Ukraine guided missiles for Patriot air defense system

The German government decided to transfer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine an additional set of missiles for the Patriot air defense system.

What is known

This was announced by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (Boris Pistorius). We are talking about 64 guided missiles. The minister did not say what kind of missiles these would be, but it is known that the Patriot complex is in service with the German army in two versions: PAC-2 and PAC-3. The latest modification has M91 interceptors. They are capable of destroying ballistic targets.

For those who are not in the know

Patriot is an anti-aircraft missile system developed by the American company Raytheon. It consists of an air interception missile and a high performance radar system. The cost of one rocket is about 3 million dollars. By the way, Ukraine effectively uses the American air defense system. Since the Patriot entered combat duty, the Ukrainian air defense forces have managed to intercept many ballistic missiles.
