Ice test: flagships Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, iPhone 14 Pro Max and Xiaomi 13 Ultra filled with soda and froze (video)

Most modern smartphones, especially top models, are splash and water resistant. However, often, when a user brings a “drowned person” to a service center, he is denied free repairs, calling the case out of warranty. And water protection in many cases turns out to be only protection against ordinary splashes. The author of the TechDroider YouTube channel decided to test the water resistance of three current flagships: Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, iPhone 14 Pro Max and Xiaomi 13 Ultra. But his test was pretty extreme.

What was shown

So, first, the blogger placed the smartphones in a container and filled them with liquid. But not plain water, but a sweet carbonated drink. After that, he left the gadgets for 6 hours in the freezer.

When the smartphones were thoroughly “marinated” and turned into a solid block of ice, the blogger “warmed” them in hot water. And do you think phones survived? They continued to work as if nothing had happened! But only one of them, namely the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, issued a warning that liquid got into the charging port and must be dried before charging the gadget.

The result is impressive, but it is better not to repeat such experiments at home, as success may not be repeated or the liquid will make itself felt in a few days.
