Norway and the countries of the Middle East are ready to join the development program for the H175M helicopter with a cruising speed of 300 km / h and a cruising range of 1260 km

Airbus plans to attract new partners to the H175M military helicopter development project. It is being created as part of the New Medium Helicopter (NMH) program for the Royal Air Force of Great Britain.

What is known

This information was shared by Lenny Brown, Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters UK. According to him, several states immediately showed interest in the helicopter. We are talking about the countries of the Middle East and Norway, which needs helicopters for the army and special operations forces.

Airbus Helicopters UK brought the H175M to the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget. NMH’s program calls for production of 36-44 helicopters, while the company wants to increase sales to hundreds of units. That is why she needs foreign customers.

The manufacturer intends to build 150 helicopters by 2030. Between 2031 and 2050, another 350 units will be produced. Thus, Airbus Helicopters UK wants to sell 500 helicopters in less than 30 years.

H175M will be able to transport up to 18 people without crew. The cruising speed will be 300 km/h, the maximum takeoff weight is 7500 kg, the service ceiling is 6000 meters, and the flight range is 1260 km.

The new helicopter will be a replacement for the AW149. The Leonardo model (pictured above) has a range of 800 km and a top speed of 310 km/h (cruising – 278 km/h). The maximum takeoff weight is 8500 kg.
