Since 2018, iPhone users have been breaking into the house of a programmer from the USA due to an error in the Locator application.

Scott Shuster’s house unwittingly becomes the hub for all the lost devices in the area.

News agency ABC News KTRK reported that due to a bug in the Apple Locator app, all lost devices in the Greater Houston Texas metropolitan area point to the same address – the home of local resident Scott Shuster.

Scott Shuster, who has lived in his home since 2018, said that over the past few years, 12 people have tried to break into Shuster’s home at any time of the day or night, scaring his children and disturbing the peace of the home.

Schuster has his own theory about why his address appears as the geolocation of all lost smartphones in the area. According to the programmer, his house was a model for the area when it was first built. Subsequently, Apple Maps assigned each house in the area one general address – the Schuster address. No matter where the phone is located within the suburbs, the Apple app shows that the lost device is located at the programmer’s address.

Schuster reported the issue to Apple Support, but the company has yet to fix the bug. Schuster also said he was considering filing a lawsuit against Apple. However, Cupertino did not comment on the situation.
