By releasing the WF-H800 true wireless earbuds, Sony has extended its audio portfolio in India. All three main voice assistants, including Google Assistant, Alexa and Siri, are assisted by this. They also feature an ergonomic Tri-hold design that is “designed to touch the ear for a safe, comfortable fit at three separate points.” The Sony WF-H800 was priced at Rs. 14,990, and is already available in a single Black colour option for purchase at Flipkart and Sony retail stores.
The WF-H800 earphones come with Neodymium 6 mm dome-type drivers, and with 44.1kHz sampling support frequencies between 20Hz and 20,000Hz. They run in the 2.4Ghz band and endorse up to 30 feet (~10 metres) of Bluetooth 5.0 with a powerful communication range. The audio formats supported include SBC and AAC, but LDAC support is not available. The buds still lack waterproofing and active noise cancellation, while what Sony calls ‘Automatic AI Noise Suppression’ is provided by Sony.
The WF-H800 comes with the Digital Sound Enhancement Engine HX (DSEE HX) in terms of functionality, which can boost compressed audio to stream music and downloaded songs. They also support a whole host of customizable equaliser choices found on Android and iOS in the companion Sony Headphones Connect app.
The Sony WF-H800 ships with an unspecified capacity battery that the company says can give up to 8 hours of single-charge playback, with an additional 8 hours of playback from the case. Quick charging also comes with the unit, which the company claims can provide 70 minutes of playback with just 10 minutes of charging.
