Square Enix announced the release of Star Ocean: The Second Story R – the game will be released on November 2nd:

What is known

The story follows two main characters, Claude and Rena, with different views and allies depending on your choices. Both embark on a journey to save Expel, and explore dungeons and cities, fighting enemies in real time. Battles are about dealing damage to enemies and then performing special moves for further action.

Blending HD-2D pixelated character sprites with a 3D environment, the remake looks great while maintaining a retro vibe. In addition to the revised soundtrack from composer Motoi Sakuraba, the original composer, there will also be new music for various story sequences and boss battles. Star Ocean: The Second Story R will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.
