Very soon, Archer self-propelled artillery mounts will appear in service with the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Sweden will transfer them during the summer.

What is known

Together with Archer howitzers, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive CV90 armored vehicles. The crews are already completing their training in Sweden. This was stated by Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov during a joint briefing with Swedish Defense Minister Paul Johnson and Swedish Civil Defense Minister Carl-Oscar Bohlin.

Archer is a 155 mm self-propelled howitzer on a wheeled chassis (6×6). The artillery mount is equipped with a FH 77 BW L52 gun. The maximum firing range for high-explosive fragmentation projectiles is 30 km, and for M982 Excalibur precision-guided munitions – 60 km.

The combat vehicle is equipped with a Volvo D9B diesel engine with a capacity of 330 horsepower (242 kW) and a volume of 9400 cc. see The power plant allows Archer to reach speeds of up to 70 km / h. The power reserve is 500 km.
