China drove US destroyer USS Milius off its shores – Pentagon denies

The situation in the South China Sea continues to be tense. Recently, the People’s Liberation Army of China claimed that it managed to drive off the American ship USS Milius.

What is known

The Chinese military claims that a US Navy destroyer illegally entered the South China Sea area. As a result, the fleet of the People’s Liberation Army of the People’s Republic of China was able to push it away from the Paracel Islands.

The American warship USS Milius allegedly invaded Chinese territorial waters on March 23, 2023. The US Department of Defense has already responded to the statements of the Chinese military. Pentagon officials say the US Navy destroyer is conducting routine operations in the South China Sea.

Moreover, American forces will continue to fly, swim and perform other activities wherever international law does not prohibit it. This statement was made by the command of the 7th Fleet of the US Navy.
