internet speed test

If messages are not loading for you, the first thing you must do is check if there is some issue with the Internet. So, use any of the mentioned free Internet Speed testers for your bandwidth. In case the bandwidth is low, move to the next solution.

2] Restart the router

Restarting the router will resolve slow Internet issues and other network glitches as well. However, we don’t mean just rebooting the device; instead, the affected user has to powercycle the router. To do the same, turn off the device, remove all the cables, wait for a few seconds, plug all the cables back in, and finally start your router. This should do the job for you.

3] Check if Coxmail is down

If there is nothing wrong with the network from your end, it’s time to check and make sure that there is something wrong with the Coxmail server. To do the same, you can use any one of the mentioned down detector services to know the server status. In case, the server is down, there is nothing one can do other than wait for the issue to be resolved.

  5. Complete the process by filling in the required details under Account Information, Mailbox Behaviors, and Advanced, following the on-screen instructions.

Hopefully, this will do the job for you.

5] Fix the SSL Error by changing the port number

If you get an SSL Error when using Coxnet mail, you have to change the Port number to resolve the issue. Follow the steps mentioned below to do the same.

  1. Open the settings of Coxmail.
  2. Now, go to Preferences.
  3. Then navigate to Accounts.
  4. Now, click on Advanced associated with your account.
  5. Delete Port 995 and uncheck the SSL checkbox. Replace it with Port 110 and check SSL.
  6. Finally, exit after saving the settings.

Hopefully, this will do the job for you.

6] Clear DNS cache and/or switch to Google Public DNS

In case your computer’s DNS cache is corrupted, you will get Internal Server Error in Coxmail. However, since DNS caches are so vulnerable, Microsoft has included an option to clear them and that’s exactly what we will do. So, open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the following command.

ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig/ registerdns

Now, check if the issue is resolved.

Change to public Google DNS servers

In case, the issue is not resolved, switch to Google Public DNS as you get an internal server due to inconsistency in DNS. You can use Google DNS instead of your default one even if clearing the DNS cache resolves your issue, as Google DNS is more consistent.

7] Clear the browser’s cache

If all else fails, we need to clear the cache of the browser you were using as if they are corrupted, and you will get all sorts of errors. So, go ahead and clear the browsing cache of Google, Edge, or any other browser you are using and check if the issue is resolved.

Hopefully, this will do the job for you.
