Domestic means of information protection occupied 90% of the market
Deputy Head of the Ministry of Digital Development Alexander Shoitov said that in Russia there are analogues of almost all foreign solutions.
Deputy Head of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation Alexander Shoitov in an interview with RIA Novosti told that Russian cybersecurity products now occupy about 90% of the domestic market, while at the beginning of 2022 their share was about 60%.
“If at the beginning of 2022 foreign information security tools accounted for at least 40%, now we estimate their share as 10%, that is, Russian ones – about 90%,” Shoitov said, answering a question about the change in the share of foreign suppliers in the Russian market cyber security.
According to him, in Russia there were analogues of almost all foreign decisions. “All the means of cryptographic information protection used were Russian. At least in the public sector. There were no such certified foreign funds,” Shoitov added.
However, the deputy head of the Ministry of Digital Resources admitted that there was one narrow segment in terms of information security tools, where Russian counterparts lagged behind. “We are talking about so-called high performance intelligent firewalls – NGFW, which, perhaps, did not have direct Russian competitors. That is, according to the very principle of protection, such means existed, but according to some technical parameters – the speed of work, the speed of processing one package – there may not have been direct analogues. But it was in this direction that a lot of work was done, and at the beginning of this year they appeared,” Shoitov added.
