If you want to enable or disable Print from Application Guard for Edge, you must use your administrator account on Windows 11/10. We will show you the following two methods for enabling or disabling the Print from Application Guard for Edge:

1] Enable or disable Print from Application Guard for Edge via Windows Settings

  1. Open Windows Security.
  2. Select the App & browser control option.
  3. Locate the Isolated browsing section and click on the Change Application Guard settings link.
  4. On the next page, turn on the Print files button.

If you want to turn off this feature again, simply turn off the Print files switch.

2] Turn On or Off Print from Application Guard for Edge via Registry Editor

You can modify Windows Registry to enable and disable Windows settings. The print files option in Application Guard for Edge can also be enabled or disabled via Registry Editor. Before you proceed, it is recommended to create a System Restore Point and back up your Registry.

Click on Windows Search and type Registry Editor. Select the Registry Editor from the search results. Click Yes if you receive the UAC prompt.

Go to the following path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Hvsi

Enable disable Print from Application Guard via regedit

If you do not find the Hvsi subkey under the Microsoft key, you have to create it manually. To do so, right-click on the Microsoft key and go to “New > Key.” Name this newly created key Hvsi.

Now, select the Hvsi subkey and look for the EnablePrinters value on the right side. If the EnablePrinters value is not available on the right side, create it. Simply, right-click in the empty space on the right side and go to “New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.” Give the name EnablePrinters to this newly created Value.

Double-click on the EnablePrinters value and enter 1 in its Value data. Click OK to save changes. Now, close the Registry Editor and restart your computer so that the changes will take effect.

If you want to disable Print from Application Guard for Edge, change the Value data of EnablePrinters value from 1 to 0 and restart your computer.

How do I turn off Application Guard in Edge?

You can turn off Microsoft Defender Application Guard for Edge by disabling it in Windows Features. Open Windows Features via the Control Panel and look for Microsoft Defender Application Guard. Once you find it, uncheck its checkbox and click OK. This step will turn off Microsoft Defender Application Guard for Edge.
