LockBit cyberattack shuts down stationery retailer Essendant

On March 14, the LockBit ransomware gang claimed responsibility for the cyberattack on Essendant.
March 15 company reported that System Restore is nearing completion. It is worth noting that Essendant does not acknowledge the fact of the LockBit cyber attack, and claims that the destructive events are associated with a massive failure in the company’s systems.
Some Essendant employees and customers initially claimed that the crashes were caused by a ransomware attack. In addition, numerous customers have shared crash reports and stated that they are frustrated by the company’s lack of transparency.
