Together with the M142 HIMARS, Poland received “other elements of the PATRIOT / IBCS system.” The deliveries are carried out within the framework of the Homar and Wisla programs, which are aimed at significantly strengthening the Polish rocket artillery and air defense.
The contract for the supply of M142 HIMARS was signed in 2019. Poland has ordered 20 launchers, GMLRS precision-guided projectiles and ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles worth $655 million. HIMARS will go into service with the 1st Artillery Brigade, which is part of the 16th Mechanized Division.
