MediaTek held another conference this morning teasing with information about the expected processor for mobile devices. It will be called Dimensity 8000, which makes it more affordable than the flagship Dimensity 9000, which debuted more recently. The good news is that the solution uses a successful 5-nanometer process technology, although the cores are used from the previous generation.

The Dimensity 8000 will be equipped with 4 Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2750 MHz and 4 A55 cores clocked at 2000 MHz. One of the advantages is the presence of a new graphics accelerator Mali-G510 MC6, which is 2 times faster and 22% more energy efficient than the previous generation.

Initially, the processor was supposed to be called Dimensity 7000, but the manufacturer officially announced the Dimensity 8000. The first smartphones based on it will be released in early 2022.
