Pro-Palestinian hackers threaten Israeli chemical companies and their employees

Cybercriminals promise to cause an accident at the plant if their demands are not met.

The attackers launched a large-scale hacker campaign aimed at Israeli chemical organizations that operate in the occupied territories of Palestine. A group called Electronic Quds Force threatens engineers and ordinary workers of companies, and also invites them to leave their positions.

The attacks, according to the group, are retaliation against the Israeli government and its policies towards the Palestinians, the hackers accuse Tel Aviv of violence. “Our recommendation to all scientists working in chemical plants is to quit your job and look for a new one. Take refuge in a place where we are not; Working in chemical plants is a threat to your life. We will not hesitate to melt your bodies with chemicals the next time there is an act of violence against the Palestinians, ”says a message sent by Electronic Quds Force.

The message is clear – the hackers claim they can interfere with the operation of the plant, and this could potentially lead to the death of innocent people. The message was posted on the group’s Telegram channel along with images of industrial control systems believed to belong to one of the chemical companies whose plant was attacked.

It is reported that over the past week, the number of operations carried out by the Israeli military in Palestinian villages has increased. According to the UN, 2022 was the deadliest year for Palestinians living in the West Bank in 16 years. No wonder Palestine retaliates in this way.

In September 2022, another pro-Palestinian hacker group, GhostSec, claimed to have compromised 55 Berghof programmable logic controllers used by Israeli organizations as part of the Free Palestine campaign. GhostSec also posted a video demonstrating a successful login to the admin panel and said they can use it to change the chlorine and pH levels in the water.

And in August, the ALtahrea Team took down the websites of seaports in several major Israeli cities, as well as hundreds of other Israeli websites.
