Qualcomm, as promised, held an event today where it announced a new processor for mid-range smartphones.
What is known
The rumors were not confirmed. The company decided to skip Snapdragon 7+ Gen 1 and Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 and immediately showed Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. According to the manufacturer, the new chip is significantly different in performance and power efficiency compared to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor.

The SoC has received a 1+3+4 core layout. The main core is Kryo with a maximum clock speed of 2.91GHz. Qualcomm claims that the performance of the chip has increased by 50%. Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 also boasts a new Adreno GPU with a 2x performance boost.
In addition, the new chip received an updated ISP module with support for cameras up to 200 MP, proprietary Qualcomm AI Engine technology with accelerated processing of the AI function, as well as Snapdragon X62 5G Modem-RF with download speeds up to 4.4 Gb / s. Smartphones based on Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC will support 4G/5G Dual-Sim Dual Active (DSDA) functionality.
