Russia simplifies the process of employment and obtaining a residence permit for foreign IT specialists
Specialists from other countries will be able to conclude an employment contract without obtaining a work permit or a patent.
For foreign IT-specialists, the procedure for employment and obtaining a residence permit in Russia is now simplified, informs TASS with reference to the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk.
In accordance with the new rules, foreign IT specialists can enter into an employment contract or a civil law contract with organizations engaged in IT activities without obtaining a work permit or a patent. At the same time, employers (accredited IT companies) can attract such employees without obtaining permission to attract and use employees.
In addition, foreign IT specialists who work in accredited IT companies, as well as members of their families, are entitled to obtain a residence permit in the Russian Federation without an expiration date under a simplified procedure. To do this, you must contact the migration unit of the territorial body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs at the chosen place of permanent residence. The term for consideration of the application is 3 months.
Foreign IT-specialists who wish to obtain a residence permit in the Russian Federation must submit basic documents, as well as an employment contract or a civil law contract with an accredited IT company in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, as well as a document on education and (or) qualifications in the field of information technology .
If an application for a residence permit is submitted by family members of a foreign IT specialist, they must also provide documents confirming the degree of kinship.
