On May 22, the Russian Volunteer Corps, which is fighting on the side of Ukraine, launched an operation on the territory of the Russian Federation. Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, commented on the situation.

Information about the operation in the Belgorod region initially appeared on social networks. Andrey Yusov confirmed it, but noted that we are talking about an internal conflict. The Armed Forces of Ukraine do not take part in the operation. Only citizens of the Russian Federation work there.
The representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate added that there is “a lot of truth” in the information about the evacuation of residents and the destruction of the Russian Mi-8 helicopter. In addition, the Russian military decided to urgently remove the nuclear weapons located at the Belgorod-22 facility. Yusov confirmed that tactical nuclear weapons were stored there.
