The Russian armed forces have long and often successfully used Izdeliye-52 loitering ammunition, better known as the Lancet. One such kamikaze drone was captured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
What is known
Loitering ammunition was found at one of the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Probably, for some reason, the explosives did not work, and the drone just crashed.
The Ukrainian military decided to dismantle a Russian kamikaze drone and found out that it carried a standard K3-6 shaped charge. It is able to break through a reinforced concrete wall up to 55 cm thick. A plastid with a detonator is installed in the tail section.
Loitering ammunition exists in two versions: “Lancet-3” and “Lancet-1”. The first can fly for 40-60 minutes, cover 40-70 km and reach speeds of up to 300 km. The take-off weight is up to 12 kg, the weight of the warhead is 35 kg. The Lancet-1 has a power reserve of 30 minutes, a payload of 1 kg and a range of 40 km.
