In Russia, there will be rules for the use of systems to combat drones, which began to interfere with mobile communications, WiFi, industrial systems and electronics of law enforcement agencies. About it informs Izvestia edition.

According to the publication, a special working group has been created under the Ministry of Digital Transformation, which will determine the possibilities of using the radio frequency spectrum by means of electronic suppression. It included representatives of the State Commission for Radio Frequencies, the fuel and energy complex, the National Radio Association of Radio Frequency Spectrum Users, the National Radio Engineering Bureau, telecom operators and developers of RES.

It became necessary to regulate the work of jammers after their spontaneous, uncontrolled introduction began this year. Such equipment is used not only by law enforcement agencies – it is purchased by municipal authorities in the regions of the Russian Federation, large enterprises. In some localities, this already leads to interference with mobile Internet.

“Incorrectly installed and used blockers for drones can really interfere with mobile communications and the Internet. We can also talk about WiFi (routers, in particular, use the 2.4 GHz frequency, which is widely used to control drones). In addition, interference is possible for devices short range (SRD): wireless control and monitoring systems for industrial equipment, security systems and other things,” the source warned.

Another interlocutor noted that technically blocking cellular communication for drones without blocking cellular communication on the ground is extremely difficult. This requires the use of more complex antennas and professional installation of such systems, but even in these cases, interference will remain.

According to one of the specialists in the use of the radio frequency spectrum, in order to fully solve this problem, it is necessary to create an air traffic control system for drones. It will carry out the identification of all aircraft and automatically identify violators against whom it will be necessary to apply various measures. However, the creation of such a system is difficult and expensive – therefore, for the time being, it is necessary to somehow regulate the use of blockers so that interference is partially limited.

Demand for anti-drone systems this year increased several times. Not only organizations, but also individuals began to buy them. Devices can be found on various Internet sites, such as Avito, Ozon, Wildberries and Yandex.Market. Sellers are individuals or online stores. The cost of such systems varies from 130 thousand to several million rubles.
