Canada is rich in education, and there are several scholarships available to students who wish to pursue their MBA in Canada. Whether you’re graduating from university with excellent grades or have already completed an undergraduate degree and want to boost your employability, these scholarships can help cover the costs of your MBA program. Here are the top 10 MBA scholarships in Canada!

1) L.E.A.D Scholarship

The L.E.A.D Scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship for an MBA program at one of six Canadian business schools: Queen’s University, University of Alberta, Ivey Business School, Rotman School of Management, Schulich School of Business, or McGill University.
The scholarship is awarded to a woman who demonstrates academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to community service.
To be eligible for the L.E.A.D Scholarship, applicants must

(1) be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
(2) have been accepted into a full-time MBA program at one of the six participating schools; and
(3) demonstrate financial need. The selection committee assesses each applicant on the basis of academic achievement, leadership potential, and involvement in volunteer activities as well as her application essay.
Applicants are not required to submit any formal letters of reference or employment verification.

2) Leaders in Environmental Awareness and Development (LEAD) Program

1. The Leaders in Environmental Awareness and Development (LEAD) Program is a Canadian scholarship program that provides financial support to students pursuing an MBA with the intention of working in the environmental sector.

2. LEAD offers both full and partial scholarships, with the average award being $10,000 CAD.

3. To be eligible for the LEAD Program, applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents who are enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time MBA program at a participating Canadian university.

5. In addition to demonstrating financial need, applicants must also have a strong academic record and demonstrate their commitment to environmentalism through their professional and/or volunteer experience.

6. Eligible fields of study include engineering, economics, business administration, natural resources management, biology, ecology, and more.

7. It is important to note that while LEAD does not discriminate against the field of study when determining eligibility, it does prioritize students intending to work in fields related to the environment such as sustainable energy or water resources management.

8. Applications for the 2019-2020 school year will open on November 15th, 2018, and close on January 15th, 2019 so make sure you apply early!

3) Zonta International Foundation Fellowship/Canada Millennium Scholarship Fund

Zonta International is a global organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide.
The Zonta International Foundation provides fellowships for women pursuing graduate degrees in business administration at select universities around the world. Fellows receive a grant of US$7,000 to help offset tuition and other expenses related to their studies.
The Canada Millennium Scholarship Fund was created to help low- and middle-income Canadians access post-secondary education. The fund provides scholarships of up to $5,000 per year for students attending eligible schools across Canada.

Maclean’s Top Ten Awards: Maclean’s magazine recognizes Canadian universities with awards based on academics (teaching), student satisfaction (surveys), job prospects (salary potential), and other factors that will allow prospective students to make informed decisions about which school is best for them.

4) Rotary Club of Toronto Massey Fellowships

The Rotary Club of Toronto Massey Fellowships is awarded to international students who are enrolled in a full-time MBA program at a Canadian university. Fellows receive a $30,000 CAD award, which is used to cover tuition and other associated costs.
The selection process is based on academic achievement, community involvement, and leadership potential. To be eligible, applicants must be nominated by their university.

They should also have an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 and provide three letters of reference attesting to their scholastic ability, character, personal qualifications, and interest in business management as demonstrated through activities both during and after the undergraduate years.

Maclean’s Top 100 Undergraduate Scholarships: Maclean’s magazine annually recognizes 100 outstanding young Canadians under the age of 25 for their achievements in different fields such as sports, music, research, or academics.

One student is selected from each province or territory for either $10,000 worth of scholarships or a one-year scholarship worth up to $2,500 for use towards post-secondary education tuition fees (whichever applies). Each year six runners-up are named for receiving $1,000 scholarships.

The winners are selected through online voting by the public and submissions made by themselves to Maclean’s via social media channels. Eligible candidates may apply once they’ve completed their first year of study at a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution; those studying outside of Canada may apply if they will complete their first year in 2018.

5) The Canadian Forces Health Services Group Inc. Undergraduate Student Training Awards

These awards are available to full-time students enrolled in an undergraduate health sciences program at a Canadian university. The award is worth $5,000 per year for up to four years and is renewable for the fifth year. Students must be nominated by their university’s financial aid office.

The Royal Canadian Geographical Society Scholarship (two sentences): This scholarship is available to any Canadian citizen or permanent resident who is enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program with a focus on geography, environmental studies, or earth sciences at a Canadian university.

The scholarship is worth $5,000 per year for up to four years of study. It can be renewed for a fifth year if the student meets the renewal criteria.
The student must demonstrate academic excellence as well as personal achievement through volunteerism, work experience, or research. To apply, submit your application along with a one-page statement outlining your interest in geography and how you hope to use it in your future career.

Applications will be judged based on academic merit and commitment to the field of geography. Winners will receive an award of $2,500 which may not exceed tuition costs; these funds are not guaranteed but offered as possible support towards tuition costs incurred during the duration of their studies. The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Graduate Fellowships: There are five separate scholarships each valued at $25,000 that fund doctoral fellowships granted exclusively to citizens or permanent residents of Canada who have already obtained their master’s degree from a Canadian university.

6) UBC Sauder Undergraduate Business Scholarship

The UBC Sauder Undergraduate Business Scholarship is available to students who are enrolled in the Sauder School of Business.

The scholarship is worth $10,000 and is renewable for up to four years. To be eligible, students must have a minimum GPA of 3.67 and demonstrate financial need.

The deadline for applications is February 1st of each year. Recipients will be notified on March 15th. If selected, recipients will not receive notification until after they accept or decline the award. Applicants can check their status by going to undergraduate-scholarships@sauder.ubc.ca.

7) TD Bank Financial Group Diversity Scholarship

The TD Bank Financial Group Diversity Scholarship is available to Canadian citizens or permanent residents who self-identify as part of a visible minority group. This includes, but is not limited to, Black, Aboriginal, Asian, and South Asian Canadians.

The scholarship is worth $10,000 and can be used towards tuition, books, and other associated costs. To be eligible, applicants must have a minimum 75% average and must be enrolled in or accepted into an accredited MBA program in Canada.

Applicants must submit their essay on How my visible minority status has shaped my career aspirations and will be evaluated based on the strength of their written application, their academic performance to date, personal goals and achievements, leadership qualities (both school and community), extracurricular activities (including community service) and work experience.

The deadline for applications is March 1st, 2019.

8) TDSB Aboriginal Education Award for University Students

This award is available to TDSB students of Aboriginal ancestry who are planning to pursue post-secondary education.

The award is worth up to $5,000 per year, for a maximum of four years.

To be eligible, students must:

-be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
-be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate program at a recognized university;
-have achieved a minimum 70% average in the most recent academic year; and,
– demonstrate financial need.

Aboriginal students who meet these criteria and who are planning to study business at the graduate level are encouraged to apply. The application deadline is March 1st each year.

9) George R. Gardiner Memorial Award

The George R. Gardiner Memorial Award is a $10,000 scholarship that is awarded to a full-time MBA student at a Canadian business school.

The award is given to the student who demonstrates the highest degree of academic excellence and who has contributed the most to the life of the school. Applicants must have completed one year of an MBA program by the application deadline date.

The selection committee evaluates each applicant on their performance in academics and involvement with clubs or organizations as well as leadership positions held within clubs or organizations on campus.

The recipient may also be eligible for funding for summer internships through the George R. Gardiner Memorial Foundation. In order to apply, students need only provide proof of registration in a Canadian MBA program at the time of application and transcripts from both undergraduate study and graduate study. It should be noted that applicants are not required to have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree before entering the MBA program.

The George R. Gardiner Memorial Award was established in 2002 by the family and friends of Dr. Gardiner who was an avid supporter of education throughout his life.

10) The YWCA Women’s Graduates Scholarship Award

The YWCA Women’s Graduates Scholarship Award is available to women who have graduated from college or university within the last two years.

The award is worth $5,000 and is renewable for up to two years. To be eligible, applicants must demonstrate financial need and be enrolled in or planning to pursue a graduate degree at a Canadian institution.

The Jaimie Anderson Parliamentary Internship (six sentences): The Jaimie Anderson Parliamentary Internship is available to Canadian citizens or permanent residents who are currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution.
The internship is worth $7,500 and lasts for four months. Interns will work in the office of a Member of Parliament, gaining valuable experience in the political process.

Applicants must be willing to commit to a four-month internship, be able to commit a minimum of five days per week on-site at their placement location, and maintain an academic course load during their placement period.

The Senate/Senators Scholarship: The Senate/Senators Scholarship is open to full-time undergraduate students enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at a recognized Canadian university.

Awards range from $2,000 – $8,000 each year and are available to scholars with high grades (a B average or better). The scholarship may also be renewed annually until graduation if recipients maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher.
